GENERAL COURSE OBJECTIVES This course is designed to provide the students with the necessary language skills which will enable them to cope effectively with the challenges of their course, to use English Language effectively in the practice of his/her chosen profession as well as interact with others in the society. The students are expected to know the various rules of grammar and be able to use them in everyday communication. On the completion of the course the student should know the meaning, types and elements of a sentence construction, explain the meaning of concord and analyse its types, list the various tenses and apply its knowledge in proper construction of sentences, understand the basic types, rules and techniques of good essays, know and understand the registers to use in various professions and occupations and appreciate literary works in English.
